The US and the Houthis engaged in combat today. Four Houthi boats attacked a commercial ship and attempted to board it this morning, resulting in several US helicopters responding to the distress call. The US says it began to issue verbal calls to the Houthis but then they were shot at and so they sank 3 of the 4 boats in self-defense, killing the crews. The Houthis have confirmed that 10 of their members were killed by the US Navy. The London Times says that the UK is preparing an airstrike campaign on the Houthis in coordination with the US and potentially France and Italy. The US is expected to release a final warning in the coming hours.
