Nancy is continuing the Quilt As You Go tutorial. She shares two sashing techniques out of the many options available.
On her first quilted tiles, she chose a simple sashing with cornerstones. On the second quilted tiles, it also has simple sashing but they are stripped sashings.
When you are doing a quilt as you go project in the block by block technique by Beth Donaldson, you'll have to plan what type of sashings you will use and where. If you are able to used Beth Donaldson's book Block by Block, it will be helpful to show you examples of how sashings are added.
Nancy also shows you how to properly cut your sashings. Square up your finished blocks first and use the finished block size to make the sashings. Cut a wide strip using the length of fabric (not the width because it stretches). Then power cut the size of strips you need.
In the next tutorial, Nancy will show how to baste the blocks, do the appliquilting and start to putting the blocks together as a quilt as you go project.
