Fed Rate Hikes will cause the 2023 housing market crash to get even worse. It is very likely mortgage rates will continue to move higher, with a peak federal funds rate now projected to be ~6% by mid to end of 2023, investors and home buyers should prepare for a worsening housing environment.

With inflation continuing to stay elevated the #federalreserve and #jeromepowell now need lift their projected pace of rate hikes and the length of time they now need to keep rates at these elevated levels. Which is going to further restrict real estate investors and home buyers from the credit markets and obtaining mortgages at low to fair rates.

Real Estate bulls like #Redfin have been hoping that the spring selling season would have brought in a activity bottom for the housing crash, but with these renewed rate hikes it’s highly unlikely that we’ve reached a bottom in the housing market.

This will especially affect metros like Seattle Washington, Denver Colorado, Boise Idaho, and Phoenix Arizona, all of which rely heavily on their spring selling season, and it’s likely realtors in those markets will find themselves out of a job soon.
