이란 대통령 "농도 90％ 우라늄 생산 가능…미국 압박은 실패"
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country could enrich uranium up to 90 percent purity if its nuclear reactors needed it,... but added it still sought the revival of a 2015 deal that would limit its atomic program in return for the lifting of sanctions.
According to Iranian state media Wednesday, Rouhani said in a cabinet meeting that Iran has never sought nuclear weapons... arguing that it is the U.S. and Europe that have developed weapons.
Rouhani's remarks came as he also criticized Iran's wider theocracy for not allowing his government to reach a deal to restore the 2015 atomic accord sooner.
Iran has continued to violate the deal following Washington's withdrawal from the agreement in 2018, with breaches including producing 20 and 60 percent enriched uranium.
