This Japanese technique, known as shinrin yoku, or forest bathing, is a method of relaxation. Both adults and children can naturally reduce stress and improve their health and wellness by taking a short, peaceful break among the trees and breathing deeply while doing so. In the Adirondack Park, forest bathers will have plenty of space to roam. It is the largest protected region in the contiguous United States, spanning more than six million acres of New York State, more than a hundred peaks, and around 2,000 miles of hiking routes.
