Over the past five years, three major racial discrimination lawsuits have been filed against Tesla by former employees. In one of these cases, former Tesla employee Michael Berry alleges that his coworkers had frequently used racial slurs against him and that his supervisors punished him with longer hours and more difficult work for making complaints about it. In the other two cases, former employees Marcus Vaughn, Owen Diaz, Demetric Diaz and others claim that they faced regular harassment while working at Tesla factories in California.
Ultimately the jury awarded more than $130 Million to the plaintiffs, but these cases may be signs of a greater problem within the Tesla company.
