You are what you eat, so in theory if you’re old and haggard before your time, you are the unhealthy foods you have taken in.
If you thought sun exposure, stress and smoking were the only things to worry about when it comes to speeding up the ageing process - think again. Recent studies have also shown that there are number of foods that also contain the nasties that have the potential to boost the rate at which we wrinkle.
1.Fast Food.
Fast-food from all your favorite chain restaurants is perhaps the most toxic thing the FDA allows you to eat. Fast-food with trans fat will make your skin look stiff, inflexible and very rocky. Trans-fats clog the arteries and the smaller blood vessels making your heart work overtime just to get you through the day.
2.Processed Foods.
Not only do some processed foods contain trans-fat, but they also have heavy carbohydrates which is known to damage collagen and fibers in your sensitive skin. Processed foods also contain artificial ingredients, preservatives, colorants, flavor and texturants. Bear in mind that large companies get away with including extra ingredients inside processed foods without listing them.
3.Sodas
Eating sugar can speed aging and sugar can be found in candy, baked goods, and other foods, for sure, but they are also hidden in common beverages, such as soda and juices. Opt for low sugar juice or swap for water or tea, instead of downing a can of soda when that afternoon slump hits.
4.Red Meat
While it might be nice to enjoy a big steak on occasion, eating large quantities of red meat on a regular basis can seriously affect your skin and body's aging process, as it is quite inflammatory. Thus, swap for leaner, whiter cuts, such as chicken breast and turkey breast during the week, and save red meat for special occasions or consume in lower ounces, such as 3 oz or 4 oz.
5.Dessert.
Sugar causes inflammation in your body, which contributes to aging effects. There is no health benefit to sugar—all of it is empty calories. It does give you energy but it can ruin your metabolism, cause insulin resistance, increase cholesterol and fat in the liver and cause high triglycerides. In the future, it can lead to all sorts of disease like heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Just think of dessert like a cigarette and you get the idea.
6.ALCOHOL
The ultimate dehydrator - alcohol also robs our bodies of B vitamins and vitamins A and C, which are vital for skin and overall health. Excessive alcohol depletes minerals including magnesium and zinc, as well as essential fatty acids, all of which are needed to slow down the onset of premature ageing.
7.Energy Drinks
Not only do they have massive levels of caffeine but they throw in a host of unhealthy and mysterious artificial products. The worst of it is that these energy drinks can destroy the enamel in your teeth 8-times more than soda pop.
