The entry-level 2 Series is offered in a single body style for 2023, the Gran Coupe dropped from the lineup. The coupe version was added last year, changes to the two-door for ’23 consisting of a new curved gauge cluster display.
Performance
The base 230i xDrive is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with either an 8-speed automatic or 8-speed sport automatic transmission, both with paddle shifters. The engine puts out 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Those after a exhilarating ride will gravitate to the M240i xDrive, which comes with a turbocharged straight-six-cylinder engine that makes a stout 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed sport automatic with paddle shifters.
Practicality
The compact-sized 2 Series Coupe comes with basic features such as sport seats and sport leather steering wheel, three-zone air conditioning, cruise control, park distance control and BMW Operating System 8 with navigation. Rear-seat room is at a premium. There’s 390 litres of cargo space, with a through-loading system courtesy of the 40/20/40-split rear seats.
