The Rosenhan Experiment was conducted by David Rosenhan in 1973. The study is also known as the ‘being sane in insane places’ experiment. The objective is to research hospital staff’s misconduct in labeling a person’s sanity. He found that psychiatric abuse was common and the hospital staff cannot distinguish between the sane and the insane.
