In the 2023-2024 collection of Atomic skis, you won’t find any splashy upgrades. Between the fun-loving—and bestselling—Bent Chetler collection and the more directional all-mountain Maverick and Maven series, the Atomic lineup is dialed these days.
What you will find, however, is exciting news on the boot front. Like three other brands, Atomic rolls out boots with BOA. Moreover, they do it in a new series of hybrid touring boots: Hawx Ultra XTD. With narrow lasts, new molds, and Atomic’s proven Mimic liner, the new boots are tasty options for both expert freeriders and stoked skiers looking to explore more off-piste and backcountry zones.
We know what you’re thinking: How will BOA work on ski boots? Won’t the adjustment mechanism just fall off? We’ve wondered the same thing. Fortunately, the BOA mechanism being used by Atomic, Salomon, Fischer, and K2 is brand new and ski-specific. We’ll have more on that in a separate blog post. But for now, we’ll leave it at this: The brands are stoked, and they’re staking the BOA rollout to years of aggressive product testing. A nice bonus, even if skiers do run into trouble with their BOAs, is that the system comes with a lifetime warranty through BOA. Pretty cool.
