A Maharashtrian delicacy made with raw mangoes. It’s like an instant spicy and flavourful chutney!
KAIRI TAKKU
Ingredients
3 medium raw mangoes
2 tsps red chilli powder
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsps chopped jaggery
2 tbsps oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
Method
1. Remove the top portion and grate the raw mangoes.
2. Add red chilli powder, salt, jaggery and mix well. Set aside for 15-20 minutes or till the jaggery melts.
3. For tempering, heat oil in a small nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds and mix well. Allow to cool.
4. Add this to the grated raw mango mixture and mix well.
5. Use as required.
