On Jan 26, Indonesia became the first country in Southeast Asia to exceed one million COVID-19 infections, after the reporting of more than 13,000 new cases. Experts said the true number of infections is believed to be much higher than the official tally, due to the low testing and tracing rates. Hospitals are on the brink of the collapse due to the overwhelming number of patients. Occupancy levels have exceeded an average of 70% capacity nationwide.
