Cocktail number one that has been on my list is caipirinha. This Brazilian drink is made with cachaca, a spirit distilled from sugar cane. It is very popular here in Germany.

-Cut up one lime in eight pieces. Separate some of the white skin.
-Add three bar spoons of an unrefined brown or white sugar into a glass and add the lime pieces. Then crush the limes with a pestle (or a spoon), so that the sugar becomes dissolved.
-Fill glass with crushed ice 2/3s of the way and add the cachaca spirit to there.
-Pour into another glass so that the ingredients are well mixed and then pour back into the serving glass. Finish by filling the serving glass with crushed ice.

Cocktail number two is a classic margarita

-Start by wetting the rim of your margarita glass with lime and then dipping the glass in a pile of salt. Chill glass with some ice
-In a Manhattan shaker also filled with ice add 60 milliliters or 6 centiliters of a tequila you would like. I’m using a reposado tequila which is a bit smoother due to its age. 30 ml or 3 cl of Triple Sec, 30 ml or 3 cl of lime juice and 20 ml or agave syrup or any other sugar syrup you’d like.
-Shake vigorously, pour into glass and serve with a lime wheel

Cocktail number three was chosen by my viewers in a poll.
It’s the Moscow mule, which won out over a variant of the Aperol Spritz. Both drinks are very popular in Europe.

-Like the caipirinha, the Moscow mule is built. So we start with this beautiful bronze mug that was a gift from our friends Tanja and Christian Held - Danke Euch! and fill it with ice. Then comes 60 ml of vodka, 15 ml of lime juice (half a lime) and 90 ml of ginger beer. Ginger beer is not ginger ale but actually brewed. Top off with more crushed ice.
-The decoration is usually cucumber slices, but we will just use a lime wheel and a mint leaf.
