North Korea should expect an “overwhelming response” if Pyongyang attempts to use nuclear weapons, South Korea’s defence ministry warned on September 13, 2022. The warning was issued days after the North passed a first-use nuclear law allowing pre-emptive strikes and leader Kim Jong-un asserted that the reclusive state’s nuclear status was irreversible.
