Prepare for some of the hottest air of the season this week. Temperatures are headed for 96 in Charlotte on Monday, and you can expect index values upwards of 100 degrees. This comes after Charlotte hit the hottest day of the year already this summer on August 14th with a high temperature of 96.
The heat is expected to stick around for Tuesday with temperatures near 98, and there's a chance we could endure a heat index near 105. Be sure to watch for heat-related illnesses as you go about your day. And take time to stay hydrated, cool, and plan to take breaks from the heat.
