"My steering wheel is shaking - Do I need an alignment?" We get this question a lot and wanted to clear the air on what causes this. An alignment issue will cause the car to wear through tires or pull to one side but doesn't have anything to do with the steering wheel shaking.
When the wheel is shaking it means that something is loose or unbalanced in the suspension (usually the front). It could be any number of things like a wheel bearing, ball joint, warped rotors, or even thrust arm bushings. We inspect each one of these items every time we inspect your car during our courtesy inspection.
