1. Various exteriors of High Court
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Eric Matinenga, MDC lawyer:
"As you know we went out for about an hour and somewhat (with Judge Ben Hlatshwayo), and visited various areas within the greater Harare area and the judge saw for himself the various short, medium and long queues which are still operative in these areas and he has seen it fit, having done that inspection, having listened to argument, that he extends the voting - not only in Harare and Bulawayo, but throughout the whole country, until close of polling tomorrow. And when the judge made that decision, (Justice Minister Patrick) minister Chinimasa indicated that he was going to appeal against the order and we, again, had to apply to the same judge, that what ever order he had made, would obviously become useless if an appeal was noted. So he agreed with us and said notwithstanding an appeal which is noted, that extension is operative, ok."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Patricia Delille, South African observer:
"Well, we welcome the judgement by the courts tonight, it will extend the right of the Zimbabweans to vote and be granted an equal access to the voting stations and we think it's most welcome."

7. MDC news conference
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Learnmore Jongwe, MDC Spokesman:
"We understand that ZANU PF is saying that they will not consider extending and clearly this is fraudulent - this is how elections are rigged. It's one way of rigging an election - you deny the people the right to vote even if they are in a polling queue - and that is extremely disturbing."
9. Various of Ian Smith, former Rhodesian Prime Minister registering and voting
10. SOUNDBITE (English) Ian Smith, former Rhodesian Prime Minister:
"They say time has come for a change and I see the people too - I've seen them, I've been to a few places and I've seen them, all singing and happy and saying we want to change - and that gives me hope."
Question: "What is the future now for the whites?"
Answer: "We've always been part of this place. We've always had special professional skills, which the rest of the world admired. We helped to make this the breadbasket of central Africa."
11. Various of people sitting queuing
12. Various of people registering and voting after 7 PM (1700gmt) when polls should have closed
13. SOUNDBITE (English) Vox pop, Harare resident:
"I was in the queue since yesterday - from 4 AM until this hour and I haven't yet voted - and the queue's are still as long as one kilometre and we never know, when are we going to vote?"

STORYLINE:
Zimbabwe's High Court on Sunday ordered the government to extend voting by one day in the most bitterly contested presidential election in the country's history.
The ruling came just minutes after the government rejected the idea and said that only those already in line would be allowed to vote after the polling deadline.
Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) lawyer, Eric Matinenga, said the opposition had won an extension for voting from Judge Ben Hlatshwayo, even though Justice Minister Patrick Chinimasa appealed against the extension.
Voters throughout the capital promised not to leave until they had a chance to choose between President Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai, a former trade union leader who has promised to transform the nation.
