The "New Centropezn" jazz quartet is a well-known group both in Russia and abroad, particularly in Germany, Belgium, and Spain. The quartet consists of professional musicians who graduated from the jazz department of the Rostov-on-Don State Sergey Rachmaninov Conservatory in Russia.
They first met in 1988 while studying at the Rostov College of Arts, and since then, they have gained popularity and success. Over the past 20 years, the quartet has become highly skilled and each musician is an excellent soloist. They have achieved significant recognition, including winning prizes and titles at various jazz contests in Brussels, Leverkusen, and Getxo. Additionally, the quartet has participated in numerous festivals in Russia, Germany, Serbia, and the Czech Republic.
The members of the "New-Centropezn" jazz quartet are leading the way in creating the first jazz school for children in Russia. They also work as teachers at the school. The quartet has been a part of various jazz projects and has recorded CDs with notable musicians such as: saxophonists Jerry Bergonzi (USA), Uwe Plath (Germany), Ondrej Stveracek (Czech Republic) vocalists Dennis Rowland (USA), Dian Pratiwi (Indonesia) and trumpeter Ryan Carniaux. The Quartet are supported by the Cultural Ministry of Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
They have also released four CDs of their own.
