This is an audiobook reading of Chapter 10 of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
After new overseers take charge at Lowood and improve conditions, Jane excels in her studies for six years and becomes a teacher for two more. Seeking a change, Jane advertises for a governess position and accepts one at Thornfield Manor. Before leaving, Bessie visits and updates Jane on the happenings at Gateshead, revealing that Georgiana's elopement plan was foiled by Eliza, while John has succumbed to a life of dissipation. Bessie also informs Jane that her uncle, John Eyre, had visited Gateshead years ago in search of her, but later traveled to Madeira. Jane and Bessie part ways, with Jane embarking on her new life at Thornfield.
