There are 2 parts to this question, one is ACL and MCL injury and ACL reconstruction was done and ACL is healed, an MRI if done it will show that the attachments to the tibia and the femur are intact when the ACL are intact, then the pain has to be related to the other structures of the knee. If there is injury to the MCL, we have to see if the MCL is healed or not or there might be any unattended injuries to intraarticular structures such as meniscus or new pathology itself is causing pain.
