Arrangement of "Torn from the Heavens" ( 天より降りし力 ) from Final Fantasy XIV.
Composed by Masayoshi Soken.
Arranged by Sipi Ovaska.
Original arrangement by Soken, Nobuko Toda, and Yoshitaka Suzuki.
I have a confession; I've actually never played FF14. I first heard this track in the Distant Worlds orchestra version, and thought it was a banger. After playing FF16, I decided to go back to listen to other tracks by Soken, and this was my obvious first choice :) If you would like to suggest some good FF14 music for me to arrange, leave a comment. Most of that game's soundtrack is still unknown to me.
I followed the OST version more closely than the Distant Worlds one, except the snappy ending (the OST versions I found just looped with a fade out). I love the drum kit subtly driving the track forward, and giving it some ballsy rythmic power in the (amazing) solo violin parts. Also the Final Fantasy prelude arpeggio and battle theme bassline are nice easter eggs ;)
