Red Devil Cichlid tank mates. What other fish can be with these Red Devils? I feed these sticks to my red devil. They work good as a supplemented pellet food.
What tank Mates can I keep with red devil cichlids? Question- I see peacock bass for sale in every fish store and online what do people do when the out grow the tank? Filets? Exactly, there’s stupid people everywhere unfortunately. Paired with not researching what they’re buying that’s a deadly combo.
That’s why I cringe when people say “I’ll get a bigger tank latter” “so your setting up a problem with no real solution” some people. Haha if there’s legitimate intent to upgrade I’m not as worried as someone who thinks they’ll only grow to the size of their tank haha. The owner was breeding his and had thousands of fry. It’s a big store with lots of variety, but you gotta make sure his fish look healthy. Sometimes they don’t look that great.
Lol I see them on the vendor list every week when I do the order but there's no way in hell I'm getting one of those in the store. Florida lakes and channels are full of them so that's why they should not be allowed to be kept as pets! That's why they banned snakeheads and these will be next on the list. [ Ссылка ]
So, I saw a post on another page about a young lad who had bought a red tail catfish. He has it in a grow out tank but wants to move it into heated pond come spring. Anyone know the average yearly cost of heating a 10,000 Litre pond to tropical temperatures in the north of England? I’m guessing somewhere about £3000 a year. Then there’s water changes and food on top of that too.
I also live in the North of England and I can imagine this time of year and for another 4-5 months the heaters would be blasting non stop. It would cost a fortune if it's even possible to battle the freeze.
I don't know the answer but I'm interested in seeing how much it would cost.
How many pregnancies can a guppy have from one encounter? I removed the males during her first pregnancy, but I know they can store sperm. She had the first batch about two months ago but I'm pretty sure she's pregnant again. Just wondering when I can expect this fry train to stop, lol.
Warning: live feeding. The South American leaf fish: is an ambush predator. It floats around and mimics a dead floating leaf, and can even change its color to match its surroundings. It has a projection from its bottom lip that resembles a leaf stalk. When hunting, it stalks its prey in a head-down stance, appearing to drift towards it like a dead leaf drifting in a current. When hunting, the entire mouth protrudes outwards, forming a large tube into which the prey is sucked into, usually head first. This happens so quickly it is often difficult to see. It can swallow prey almost as big as itself in this way.
Because it is an ambush predator, it usually cannot expect a constant supply of food. Because of that this, it will store numerous fish in its mouth so it will not starve.
It will fold the eaten prey in half, while it’s in its mouth, so that it can actually stack about 3-4 fish in its throat and will move them down to its stomach when it is ready to digest.
