The chicken rice is now a globally known dish due to its popularity in the media - from being a Masterchef's winner dish to being awarded Michelin stars. I grew up having this dish for lunch most of the days. The hawker stall I bought my chicken rice from after school serves a delicious ginger garlic paste that pairs so well with the sweet chilli paste my mum made. My mum would sometimes get a bit jealous when I just have the chicken rice without her sweet chilli paste. Guess what happened one day? Well, she made her own ginger garlic paste LOL!
