Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the Belarusian opposition candidate who fled to neighbouring Lithuania after standing in Sunday's presidential election, has posted a video calling on her supporters to continue their protests against Alexander Lukashenko’s authoritarian regime.
Tikhanovskaya also claimed victory in the election, saying that there was evidence she had polled between 60-70% of the vote. There have been widespread protests and reports of retaliatory police brutality since the election
