A contemporary serial composition in 34-TET temperament based on the whole tone scale (hexaphonic series) and the Messiaen modes of limited transposition.
Adrán doors starts (bars 1-23) using only the 34-TET notes closest to the notes of the 12-TET, but later moves to a wider arrangement. The notes of the whole-tone scale are ordered forming Fibonacci series: each note follows the previous one in intervals (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55) and the series end (series 55) when all the notes have appeared at least once. After each series a bridge bar is included. Combination of instruments may occasionally produce non-retrogradable (palindromic) rhythms (as the combination of cello and violin in bars 2-6 with bar 5 acting as pivot), as part of the symmetry.
