Dr. Olena Ivus is an Assistant Professor of Business Economics at Smith School of Business. Her research employs both theory and empirical work to study aspects of international trade law and regulation, multinational firm activity, intellectual property protection, and innovation and development. Her work has been published in leading journals, including Journal of International Economics, Canadian Journal of Economics, Review of International Economics, and Journal of International Business Studies.
Olena received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Calgary in 2009. Prior to joining Queen's in the Summer of 2010, Olena was an Assistant Professor at the University of Prince Edward Island, and attended as a visiting researcher at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University. In the Fall of 2010, Olena won the World Trade Organization (WTO) Essay Award for Young Economists.
