This road link Nairobi-Nakuru Highway to Thika Superhighway at Njomoko in Thika. It traverses through Gatukuyu, Mang'u, Kamwangi, Kanjuku, the tea growing area of Gakoe, Kamae forests before reaching Magumu. Following the wearing out of this road, the government has started repairs at a cost of 2.1billion Kenyan shillings which is equivalent to 21million Us dollars. This work entails re-tarmaking as well as expansion of the width of the carriageway. The project is expected to be completed on 31st December 2021.
