Welcome to Nara, the city of deer

Today I came for a one day trip from Osaka the train takes less than 30 minutes and costs a fee of around 500JPY from Tennoji station.

I want to show you some of my favorite places in Nara and do a nice tour around the Nara Park and even up on mount wakakusa.

From the JR Nara station it is only a 15 minute walk through the beautiful and clean shopping streets to our first sightseeing spot.

But first let me tell you a few facts about Nara it is known mostly for the deers but actually there is a lot of cultural history here.

There are significant artworks and Temples dating back to the 8th century when it was Japan's Capital.

In the north there is Todai-ji's 15m high bronze Buddha and in the east you can find the Shinto shrine Kasuga taisha which dates to 768 A.D. And it shows more then 3,000 lanterns.

The first Temple we visit is Kofuku-ji. It is a complex of Buddhist temple halls, a Pagoda and a museum storing national treasures.

This is the southern round hall.

Here you can see the Central Golden hall.

And this is a Five storied Pagoda!

and in the back the National treasure hall.

Next we walk towards the Nara Park on the way we pass the National Museum and many grass areas with deers.

The deers live in the middle of the city and it is amazing how they blend into the city.

Here you can see a deer cracker Vendor you can find them in many places around the park.

Please don't feed them anything other then the crackers and keep your trash until you reach a convenient store a station with a trash can or throw it away at home.

Every year deers die from eating plastic bags.
