Ellen Zaks performs two poems 'The Counting' & 'Apollo' at the Redroaster Café, Brighton, Thursday, May 24. Having been invited by Pighog Press to share the evening with two other poets, Ellen flew to the UK on Wednesday to perform poems from her anthology 'Outcries'. Ellen likes to use her dance abilities as part of her act and she delighted her audience by throwing in some flamenco steps as part of her poem 'High Heeled Shoes'.
Ellen Zaks is a performance poet. Brighton was her home town before she went to live in Marbella a few years ago. She graduated in Expressive Arts, taking Art and Dance at Brighton University and went on to produce several multi-media shows, based on her poetry, during consecutive years of Brighton Festivals.
Wrote D.M. Thomas (author of the White Hotel), 'With rich and often startling imagery, Ellen Zaks creates in her poems an emotional charge which is both spiritual and erotic. An exciting talent'.
Outcries is available from Amazon UK.
