1st race of the day at Whilton Mill.

This event was also the CovKartSport Open Championship. The 3 heats still counted towards the main championship, but there would also be at least 1 final to partake in as well, depending on how the 3 heats panned out.

I was keen to get into 2nd as early as I could, thereby allowing me to pull away from any midfield battling behind me. At the end of the 2nd lap, I managed to get into 2nd & stayed there... For all of 12 seconds.

4th was a good start to the day, took too long passing Jo McCarthy for 2nd. Given where I could've ended up, I'd made the best of it I could.
