STORYLINE:
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in Moscow on Saturday on a three-day visit where he will meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and other top officials.
Diaz-Canel and his delegation arrived on the Venezuelan presidential airplane, lent out by Nicolas Maduro, as the US-led embargo has precluded the communist island nation from affording a presidential airplane.
Among his itinerary is the ceremonial inauguration of a statue dedicated to Cuban revolutionary and longtime leader Fidel Castro in Moscow.
