In this video, Anthony Sequeira covers the useful Libraries feature in Microsoft Windows. These appear to be similar to folders but have different properties and functions. He’ll discuss why Libraries are necessary, what makes them unique, and how you can get the most use out of them.
Anthony begins by opening up Windows Explorer and showing where libraries are located. He’ll demonstrate the differences and similarities between folders and libraries.
The overall purpose of a library is to bring all of your folders that contain certain file types together into a single location, allowing you to search for and sort through your content easily. The most common applications include documents, music, pictures, and videos.
Although Windows provides several default libraries, you can create your own and set the properties to pull together the kinds of files you specify. When used correctly, libraries are a powerful tool that can provide a fantastic amount of utility on your PC.
