Elon Musk Just Ordered These Changes On Starship Flight 5!
Starship Flight 5 is just a few weeks away, promising the surreal performances of the pair of Ship 30 and Booster 12.
Based on the success of Flight 4, SpaceX definitely has more confidence to make further progress on its Starship launch, most notably the very first attempt to catch a Super Heavy booster by the Mechazilla system.
However, we must admit that this is a big challenge that requires SpaceX to be careful in its hardware design and modification.
So, what changes SpaceX made on Starship Flight 5 prototype?
Find out everything in today's episode of Techmap.

Starship's fourth flight test ended in victory, attempting to go further than any previous test before and begin demonstrating central capabilities to return and reuse Starship and Super Heavy.
That achivement made major strides to bring us closer to more ambitious objectives on its fifth flight, one of them being the likely return to the launch site landing of the Super Heavy booster, Booster 12.
So, in preparation for the Super Heavy booster's first capture attempt, what modifications did SpaceX make to it?
First of all, it's the Starlink terminals on the chines covering the COPVS. They are redesigned with a square dish rather than the old circular dish. Additionally, the chines covering the CO2 tanks receive the change. Booster 12 and onward features the new design on all four chines, consolidating to a singular design.

Integrating Starlink with the Starship vehicle during its test flights provided some benefits as follows:
It could enable connectivity and data transmission. During Starship's first fully integrated test flight, SpaceX equipped the vehicle with a Starlink antenna.
This allowed Starlink to provide connectivity at record altitudes of over 123,600 feet and speeds of Mach 1.7, enabling SpaceX to communicate with the vehicle's systems and receive data during the 4-minute test flight.
In the long term, this also serves for future Starlink deployment.
SpaceX plans to use the Starship as the primary launch vehicle for deploying its next-generation "Starlink Gen2" satellite constellation.
Integrating Starlink with Starship during test flights helps prepare for this future deployment, allowing SpaceX to test the systems and capabilities needed to rapidly launch and deploy Starlink satellites.
