Rod Serling made up the sixth dimension that he talks about in the intro for the first season. He didn’t realize that there were only four dimensions that were thought to be known. They are represented by a line, a plane, a cube, and time. When the studio asked him what the other two dimensions were, he mentioned that he thought there were five dimensions. So, he changed the narration to say that there are five dimensions instead of six. Rod also thought that he had come up with the term, Twilight Zone. He later found out that the Air Force uses the term when they fly from the day and night sides of the earth.
