Self-management is a key enabler for all learning - in children and adults! Self-management allows students to follow through on plans to complete assignments and stay focused in class. In adults, self-management is critical to reaching all sorts of goals including keeping a New Year’s resolution to exercise more or go on a diet. Top research in the field shows how critical self-management skills are, what they are, and that SELF-MANAGEMENT CAN BE LEARNED by students and adults at any age. But those teaching self-management skills have to have a particular mindset and approach when they do so.
