Deck building tip. It is generally code these days to remove all cladding (siding, stucco, etc) to expose rough framing.
In this case, there was rigid foam insulation so I exposed the band joist. In most cases going back to wood sheeting is sufficient.
After that, a peel-and-stick membrane, flashing between the remaining siding and the deck and a honkin’ bead of caulk under the door are required.
