Structural biology is fundamental to get insights into the function of biological macromolecules. It is also a powerful approach for rapid and efficient lead discovery and optimization, as the knowledge of molecular details guiding target-ligand interactions represents an important step in disclosing drug-like compounds with high efficacy and selectivity.
