This video tells the story of how Israeli special forces (Sayeret Matkal and Golani brigade) stormed Uganda in the most daring hostage rescue mission at Entebbe Airport in 1976. On July 4, 1976, Israeli commandos launched an audacious counter-terrorism attack on Entebbe Airport in Uganda, rescuing hostages that were hijacked by terrorists from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
The terror group had hijacked 248 passengers onboard an Air France flight 139 that took off from Tel Aviv and forced it to land in Uganda.
The Entebbe raid, codenamed Operation Thunderbolt (but later retroactively renamed Operation Yonathan) is one of the most daring rescue operations in world history.
In this edition of Hisple Media, we explain how Israel raided Idi Amin’s Uganda in one of the greatest rescue missions in history in 1976.
