Jan-Boike Fischer from Siemens explains how to turn existing industrial PC hardware (from any vendor) into a full-fledged Industrial Edge Device that can be then onboarded to the Industrial Edge Management System for full, industrial-grade software and device lifecycle management task.
The converted Industrial Edge Device will be able to run several Industrial Edge Apps in parallel to realize industrial applications such as connectivity, machine and line monitoring, predictive maintenance, AI-supported quality and process optimization or even control and HMI tasks at the app layer.
