Rich Thompson has seen it all in his years working at his desk. He was there as the violent 1999 Bridge Creek-Moore tornado forced staff to consider evacuating. He was there on April 27, 2011 when his office watched the largest tornado outbreak in recorded history.

"I see the full range of possibilities," Thompson explains, "You know if you're working at the local forecast office your entire career may go by and you don't see an event like that so you don't really understand how bad it can get."
