Dr James McMahon is an Infectious Diseases Physician and Adjunct Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Alfred Hospital and Central Clinical School, Monash University. He is leading a study, supported financially by the Commonwealth Bank Australia, to find out whether an antiviral medicine called Favipiravir will help people with COVID-19 clear the virus from their systems faster.
