“I chose to do an apprenticeship because it offered me the perfect opportunity to earn while I learn, develop valuable, skills receive first-hand industry exposure, and get a credible qualification. It allowed me to combine my passion for learning with real-world experience to set a strong foundation for my future career.”
Iqra Metlo realised that an apprenticeship was the right path for her after hearing from potential employers during Young Professionals webinars and networking events.
Not even a year into her AAT Apprenticeship at BP, Iqra has already been invited to Google headquarters and the BT Tower where she has developed her professional network with senior leaders as well as other apprentices.
Iqra is an Accounting & Finance finalist apprentice for The Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2023 in partnership with Pearson.
The Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards showcase the talent and diversity within multicultural communities through the celebration of those working hard to overcome adversity to achieve their goals through apprenticeships.
The awards highlight the achievements of apprentices and the contribution of employers and learning providers on the apprenticeship journey.
Winners of this year’s awards will be revealed at our annual gala dinner event on Thursday 5th October at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.
