The Redwoods Treewalk is part at the Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua.
Very easy for people of all ages, the walk takes you through the Redwoods (planted over 100 years ago) and over the top of an understory of beautiful tree ferns.
My father-in-law had his 88th birthday this year and asked if we could take him to do the treewalk. What better time than right now. ? :)
There is a section which is a little higher accessed via steps (wisely not attempted by the senior) which affords a view over the lower track. The walk is open at night but unfortunately we weren't able to go back.
The trees have grown faster than in their native homeland due to the richer soil and higher rainfall in the area, reaching over 70 metres (230 ft) height only 100 years later. (Wikipedia)
There are also a number of very easy and really beautiful walks in the forest. These were a huge favourite with my folks when they holidayed in this area back well more than a decade ago.
