Most people know right away that they have suffered a serious shoulder injury. Often you can see the bone poking up under the skin. X-rays can easily show the extent of the injury and help orthopedic surgeons decide the course of treatment.
In this video, I discuss the nature of the injury and how a doctor makes the diagnosis. Then discuss which clavicle fractures often need surgery and which ones can be treated in a sling. Finally, I describe the rehab process to recover fully.
