The successful launch of a Tomahawk land-attack cruise missile by the US Army's newest ground-based missile launcher, the Army claims, has shown off the system's operational capacity. This comes after the official Typhon Weapon System test launch of a multipurpose SM-6 missile earlier this year. Typhon, a battery with so-called Mid-Range Capability that contains four trailer-based launchers and other supporting hardware, is currently installed on the service's one battery.
