A lovely pie made with chicken, meatballs and loads of gorgeous veggies. Adapted from Jamie Oliver's 'Chicken & Sweet Leek Pie' recipe from his brilliant book, Jamie's Dinners.

For the stew:
Olive oil for frying
2lbs chicken, chopped
2 leeks
A handful of tenderstem broccoli
A handful of medium sized carrots
Half a red pepper
1 glass white wine
1 glass water
Thyme
Salt & Pepper to taste
300g sausagemeat rolled into medium-sized meatballs (I used caramelised onion sausages from my local supermarket)
For the shortcrust pastry (you can use puff pastry if you prefer):
225g plain flour
100g unsalted butter
1 pinch salt
3 tablespoons water
I brushed the top of my pastry with milk but for a more golden crust, brush with beaten egg instead.
