There are questions on the fairness and neutrality of the Election Commission. Civil society groups, along with INDIA alliance parties, are gearing up for June 4, election result day, to watch for counting manipulation. Retired bureaucrat EAS Sarma, who has written many letters to the EC which went unanswered, tells The Federal in an exclusive interview that most of the election has been "damaged". Now, the only thing which civil societies can do is to demand 100 per cent VVPAT verification in constituencies where the margin of victory is slim.
