Putnala Chutney recipe:
Ingredients:
Chana dal (dry) - ½ cup
Green chillies - 4
Garlic pods - 4
Fresh coconut (chopped) - 3 tbsp
Jeera/ Cumin - 1 tsp _ 1 tsp
Salt - based on taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Red chillies - 4
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Preparation:
Add Chana dal, green chillies, garlic pods, fresh coconut and jeera to a mixer grinder and grind to fine paste.
Then add salt based on taste and mix well.
Transfer the ground chutney to a bowl and keep it aside.
Tempering:
a) Heat oil in a pan, add red chillies, mustard and cumin.
b) Once mustard seeds splutter, add a few curry leaves and fry for a bit.
c) Then transfer the tempering into the chutney and mix well.
This quick, easy and delicious chutney goes well with dosa/ idli/ utappam/ Pesarattu/ Upma.
