This was my 2020 archery elk hunt in central Idaho.... I made a 73 yard shot on the herd bull - just after the entire herd passed by us within 15 yards. Fantastic hunt with a great buddy! I was wearing the new Kuiu Valo pattern and my buddy was wearing Sitka Subalpine - and as close as the elk were, camo may have played a factor but we were frozen in the sage for 20 minutes waiting for an opportunity to move undetected...
The bull survived the nite and we had to locate him the next day and out a finishing arrow in him, at 11 yards from atop a cliff!
While skinning quartering the bull we found another broad head protruding from his chest, that was not one of mine! The broadhead had been there for at least a year as the skin and fur had grown around it, and it was facing OUT so the arrow must have come through his body to get there - Elk are tough as nails
Hope you enjoy the video!
