Florida Springs 💦…we missed you 😍!!! We learned about Florida Springs 💦 last winter and haven’t stopped thinking about them ever since. We love 💙 the crystal clear water 💦 , the plantlife 💐, wildlife 🦢, and marinelife 🐠. We explored 12 different Florida Springs last year, and couldn’t wait to get back to Florida this year to visit more 🤩. Did you know that Florida has more freshwater springs than any other state? In fact, there are over 1,000 recognized springs in Florida 🤯.
We kicked off 2024 🥳 with a visit to Ponce de Leon Springs 💧. This spring is located at Ponce de Leon State Park and is less than 30 minutes away from where we are currently broke down 🚌 in Northern Florida. Named after Juan Ponce De León, a Spanish 🇪🇸 explorer who came to Florida in 1513 in search of the Fountain of Youth ⛲️, this spring pumps out over 14 million gallons of water 💧 per day and stays a constant 68 degrees 🥶 year around. In addition to the water, there are multiple hiking trails 🥾 and a picnic 🧺 area. Park admission is just $4 per vehicle 🚗!!!
This spring 💦 can get extremely busy in the summer, but the temperatures were in the 60’s the day we went and ironically it wasn’t busy at all 🤪. Each of us took a refreshing plunge 🏊♂️ into the spring and we had a fun time splashing around for as long as we could stand it 🥶. The water temp was higher than the temperature was outside, so jumping in the water actually didn’t feel too bad 😅. We mentioned earlier that there are over 1,000 springs in Florida ☀️ and we need your help. What other springs do we need to visit while we are here and why? Let us know in the comments 👇! Who has NEVER experienced a Florida spring 💦?
